When I was younger, I would be able to jump in the leaves that my dad would pile up! Wish I could still do that…ha!

My fondest fall memory is playing in the leaves with my daughter when she was about 5 years old.

A sickness turned into a blessing:

I was only 10 years old, and I got double pneumonia. I was put in the hospital right away, and that Halloween was taken away from me..at least that’s what I thought.

My brother decided to do something for his sister. He went out twice trick-or-treating, once for him, another for me. Tony couldn’t hold in the excitement of surprising me, begged and pleaded to hurry and get to visit me. He held something behind his back, said I have a surprise for you..

He brought both bags!! They were BOTH for me!! My brother shocked me so much. That was honestly the best! I loved my brother so much anyway, but it made me feel so good that he went above and beyond, just for me.

I got out of the hospital 3 days later. And, I was able to dress up and get pictures taken.. I had the best Halloween ever! And, never had to say trick-or-treat once.

When I was a kid, we used to always rake up the leaves in the yard and they jump in them and throw them around. It was always a blast.

My favorite memory would be halloween when my mom sewed a witch cape and hat and gave me her expensive Merle Norman makeup with green food coloring to make my face and hands green. Best halloween ever.
