Moonrise Beach Q&A + giveaway!

It’s been a couple of weeks since the release of SWEET AS SIN, book two in the Moonrise Beach series, and I have been receiving quite a few questions about the book and the series as a whole. That is why I decided to do a Q&A today to address those questions for you. So, without further ado, let’s get started!

Tell us about the Moonrise Beach series. What was the inspiration and why did you want to write it?

The Moonrise Beach series is a Contemporary Romance series. It’s a complete 360 from my Glory MC series which is quite dark and edgy. The Moonrise Beach series is much more laid-back with a beachy feel to it. I have always been inspired by the ocean and sunshine and felt like this series would be a great way to showcase the other side of me who enjoys Contemporary Romance stories. Th Moonrise Beach books are meaningful stories with a ton of emotion to them.

My inspiration for the series really stemmed from the fact that I wanted to focus more on the personal conflicts that a character can experience. With my Glory MC series, there is still quite a lot of personal conflicts that each character experiences but there are also explosions and club politics that add to that. With this Moonrise Beach series, there’s a big focus on personal development and the emotions associated with them. It’s much more focused and concentrated on personal growth.

Are these books standalone?

Yes, they can be read on their own. However, I did write them to connect with one another. For example, the first three books in the series are about the Happa-Hewitts. Each sibling will get a book. Similarly, the second set of books (books #4-6) will be about a group of girlfriends who have been out of touch for a few years but have all returned to Moonrise Beach to catch up.

Characters will often walk-on and interact with one another so for a more richer experience, it’s always best to read the series in order but not fully necessary.

What was your biggest challenge when writing this series?

The biggest challenge for me was creating conflict for each character that readers could relate to. Obviously everyone has their own challenges they face on a daily basis, but I wanted to choose things that maybe not as many people experience or know of. My aim with this series is to inspire others and through the trials and tribulations of the character, explore ways to hopefully feel better about themselves. If any one of my books helps someone in any way, it makes me feel like I’ve done a good job with my work.

Can you tell us about the heroes of this series?

Yes! I’m really excited about this! In the Moonrise Beach series, there are a lot of billionaires and bad boys. And the guys also have a lot of different occupations that make it super fun to write. I definitely think that there will be a hero for everyone in this series.

How many books will be in the series?

Right now, I have nine books planned. A lot of them are already written so be on the lookout for upcoming releases by subscribing to my newsletter.

Those are all the questions I will answer for now. But please comment with any other questions you may have down below and I will do a part two when more books are out. For more information and updates about this series, please visit my Moonrise Beach series page. This is where I will announce all release dates and info concerning these books

To celebrate this new series, I am giving away the first two books in the Moonrise Beach series in print! Available to everyone. Good luck and happy reading!

Where did you come up with the idea to write this series? And 9 books for a series is alot. I love series books. How did you have it planned for that many books?

    • Reply Ana Jolene

Like I said already, a lot of them are already written. I plan my books way in advance so it gives me time to really submerge myself into them before publication. For this series, I also wrote them in threes. So the first three is surrounded by the Happa-Hewitts and the next three are centered around three girlfriends. I won’t reveal who the last three are about so you’ll have to stay tuned to find out!

thanks for the great post. Congrats !!

How do you keep track of all of your starring characters, as well as your secondary and supporting characters ?

I create a detailed series bible for all my books. So I have everything at a glance and keep everything straight. These bibles are sometimes longer than the actual book!

For me, it’s always about the characters. You’ll find that all my stories tend to be character-driven.

My question for the next Q&A round would be, how do you make the women in the Moonrise Beach series relatable. What is it about these women that makes us want to be like them?

    • Reply Ana Jolene

I take a lot of inspiration from daily life. Everyone struggles with someone whether they show it or not and so I try to capture that with my heroines and writing. No two of my heroines are alike, but they are always yearning for something. It’s this pursuit of happiness that I think makes my heroines relatable to readers.
